These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the LifeAlly website, platform, virtual emotional-support services, communications, subscriptions, donation features, and related programs (collectively, the “Services”).
LifeAlly is wholly owned and operated by Suicide Sucks, a nonprofit organization recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code (“Suicide Sucks,” “LifeAlly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

About LifeAlly
LifeAlly connects individuals with trained Allies who provide compassionate, strengths-based, and consistent emotional support.
Life Allies may:
- Listen without judgment.
- Provide encouragement and emotional support.
- Help users work through everyday challenges.
- Support users in developing resilience and practical life skills.
- Help users identify personal goals and next steps.
- Direct users to relevant community or professional resources.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Life Allies are not acting as licensed therapists, psychologists, physicians, social workers, or other healthcare professionals.
LifeAlly Is Not a Replacement for Professional Care
LifeAlly’s general emotional-support Services:
- Do not constitute psychotherapy, medical treatment, diagnosis, or clinical care.
- Do not create a therapist–patient, physician–patient, or other clinical relationship.
- Do not replace treatment from a qualified healthcare professional.
- Should not be used to obtain medical diagnoses, prescriptions, or emergency assistance.
If LifeAlly separately offers services through licensed professionals, additional consent forms, privacy notices, fees, and service-specific terms may apply.
You should consult a qualified professional concerning medical, psychological, legal, financial, housing, or other specialized matters.
Crisis and Emergency Disclaimer
LifeAlly is not an emergency response service or crisis hotline. The platform should not be used when immediate intervention is required.
If you believe that you or another person is in immediate danger:
- Call 911 or your local emergency number.
- Go to the nearest emergency room.
- In the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
The 988 Lifeline provides free, confidential support to people experiencing suicidal crisis or emotional distress across the United States and its territories.
LifeAlly cannot guarantee continuous availability, immediate responses, or intervention during an emergency.
Safety and Confidentiality Limitations
LifeAlly aims to handle conversations respectfully and privately. However, confidentiality is not absolute.
Information may be shared or disclosed when LifeAlly reasonably believes it is necessary to:
- Address a serious or imminent risk of harm.
- Protect a child, vulnerable adult, user, Ally, or another person.
- Report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or threats when legally required.
- Contact emergency services or appropriate authorities.
- Comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal requirement.
- Investigate fraud, security incidents, misconduct, or violations of these Terms.
LifeAlly does not guarantee that information transmitted electronically will never be accessed, disclosed, lost, or compromised.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to independently create an account or use the Services.
Individuals under 18 may use the Services only if LifeAlly has established an approved youth program and obtained any required permission from a parent or legal guardian.
By using the Services, you confirm that:
- The information you provide is accurate.
- You are legally permitted to use the Services.
- You will comply with these Terms and applicable laws.
Accounts and Account Security
Certain Services may require you to create an account. You are responsible for:
- Providing current and accurate information.
- Protecting your password and login credentials.
- Restricting unauthorized access to your account.
- Informing LifeAlly promptly of suspected unauthorized activity.
You may not create an account using another person’s identity or allow another person to use your account without authorization.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Threaten, harass, abuse, exploit, or discriminate against another person.
- Submit unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, or harmful information.
- Record or distribute private sessions without prior consent.
- Impersonate an Ally, provider, employee, donor, or another user.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or another account.
- Introduce malicious software or interfere with platform operations.
- Use the Services for commercial solicitation or illegal activity.
- Share sexually explicit, exploitative, or abusive material.
- Use the Services in a manner that places an Ally or another person at risk.
LifeAlly may restrict or terminate access when these requirements are violated or when continued participation could create safety concerns.
Ally Matching and Availability
LifeAlly may match users with Allies based on availability, preferences, training, program eligibility, or other operational factors.
LifeAlly does not guarantee:
- That a particular Ally will always be available.
- An immediate response or a specific response time.
- That every user–Ally match will meet the user’s preferences.
- Uninterrupted availability of the platform.
Users may request a different Ally, but a replacement cannot always be guaranteed.
Payments and Subscriptions
Some LifeAlly Services may be free, sponsored through donations, or offered through a paid subscription.
Before purchasing a paid Service, users will be shown the applicable:
- Price.
- Billing frequency.
- Included support time or features.
- Renewal terms.
- Cancellation process.
- Refund conditions.
By providing a payment method, you authorize LifeAlly and its payment processor to charge the applicable amount.
LifeAlly does not directly store complete payment-card details when transactions are processed by an independent payment provider.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, fees already paid are non-refundable except when required by law. Users may cancel future renewals through their account settings or by contacting us at support@lifeally.org.
Donations
Donations support the charitable mission and programs operated by Suicide Sucks and LifeAlly.
Donation receipts will be provided when applicable. Donors should consult a tax adviser regarding the deductibility of individual contributions.
Unless otherwise stated or required by law:
- Donations are voluntary.
- Donations are non-refundable.
- LifeAlly may apply unrestricted donations where they are most needed.
- Designated donations will be used for the stated purpose when reasonably possible.
If a designated program becomes unavailable or fully funded, LifeAlly may contact the donor or redirect the contribution to a substantially similar charitable purpose, as permitted by law.
Housing and Community Resources
LifeAlly’s mission may include helping individuals identify safe and stable housing or supportive living opportunities.
Information about housing does not guarantee:
- Placement or admission.
- Immediate availability.
- Financial assistance.
- Eligibility for a particular program.
- The safety, quality, or conduct of an independent housing provider.
Housing programs may require separate applications, eligibility reviews, agreements, background checks, fees, and program-specific terms.
Third-Party Services
The website may contain links to third-party websites, payment processors, scheduling tools, video platforms, crisis resources, or community organizations.
LifeAlly does not control and is not responsible for the availability, security, content, or privacy practices of independent third parties. Your use of those services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies.
Intellectual Property
The LifeAlly name, branding, website content, graphics, educational materials, and platform features are owned by or licensed to Suicide Sucks and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may use publicly available materials for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, sell, reproduce, or distribute LifeAlly content without prior written permission, except as permitted by law.
Testimonials and User Stories
Testimonials reflect individual experiences and do not guarantee that every user will obtain the same outcome.
LifeAlly will obtain appropriate permission before publishing an identifiable user story, image, quotation, or testimonial. Consent to publish a testimonial may be withdrawn for future use by contacting us, subject to materials already printed or otherwise unable to be recalled.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
LifeAlly does not guarantee that:
- The Services will meet every user’s needs.
- The platform will always be available or error-free.
- Use of the Services will produce a specific personal, emotional, housing, clinical, or financial outcome.
- All information provided through the platform will be complete or suitable for every situation.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Suicide Sucks, LifeAlly, and their directors, personnel, volunteers, contractors, and Allies will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Services.
This provision does not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability resulting from intentional misconduct where applicable.
Suspension and Termination
LifeAlly may suspend or terminate access when:
- A user violates these Terms.
- Fraudulent or unauthorized activity is suspected.
- A user presents a serious safety or security risk.
- Payment obligations remain unresolved.
- Suspension is required by law.
- The relevant service or program is discontinued.
Users may discontinue use or request account closure by contacting support@lifeally.org.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts with jurisdiction in Salt Lake County, Utah, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes to These Terms
LifeAlly may update these Terms as its Services, practices, or legal obligations change.
The revised version will be posted with an updated “Last Updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through email, an account notice, or another reasonable method.
